The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed that a large number of American forces were killed in an attack on six US tactical vessels in the Persian Gulf waters.
The IRGC said the operation, codenamed True Promise 4, targeted US and Israeli forces deployed in Kuwait and Dubai, using homegrown ballistic missiles.
However, there has been no confirmation from the US on the claim, which comes as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.
Over two dozen US troops were injured in Iranian attacks on a Saudi air base in the past week, while Iran-backed Houthi rebels of Yemen claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Israel.
