Record-Breaking Remittance Inflow in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has achieved a historic milestone in remittance inflow, receiving a record-high over 3.29 billion dollars in March 2025. This marks the highest single-month remittance in the country's history, surpassing the previous record of 2.64 billion dollars set in December 2024.

● 64.7% Year-on-Year Growth: Remittance inflows in March saw a significant 64.7% year-on-year growth compared to 1.99 billion dollars in March 2024.
● 21.77 Billion dollars in Nine Months: Expatriates sent a total of 21.77 billion dollars in remittances during the first nine months (July-March) of the current fiscal year 2024-25, significantly higher than the 17.07 billion dollars received in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year 2023-24.
● Boost to Foreign Currency Reserves: The surge in remittance inflows has contributed to an increase in Bangladesh's gross foreign currency reserves, which have risen to 25.63 billion dollars. However, the country's net reserves currently stand at 20.46 billion dollars, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) methodology.
