Sri Lanka Tea Sees a Significant recovery and Auctions Cross 6 million kilograms in past 5 months for the first time

Sri Lanka's tea industry saw significant changes this week, with the quality of tea improving. High-quality leafy teas are in demand and auction offerings have exceeded 6 million kilograms for the first time in five months.

Tea exports play a crucial role in Sri Lanka's economy, providing employment and supporting rural development. Ceylon tea is extremely popular in the UK, Europe, and Japan, generating vital foreign exchange reserves.

Although Western buyers have been less active, countries like Japan and China remain highly interested.
