Islamabad, Pakistan - Uncertainty surrounds the second round of US-Iran talks as the two-week ceasefire approaches its end. Despite preparations by Pakistan to provide security for the foreign delegates, there's been no sign of the peace makers in Islamabad.
President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the talks will go ahead, but insisted Iran cannot have the means to develop a nuclear weapon. Tehran, on the other hand, hopes to leverage its control of the Strait of Hormuz to strike a deal that averts a restart of the war and eases sanctions.
The situation remains fluid amid heated rhetoric from both sides, but there's still hope that the second round of talks will be held or the ceasefire will be extended.
