A 45-year-old hospital manager, Atul Kumar Joshi, died after his motorcycle crashed into an unmarked ditch on a secluded stretch of the Faridabad-Gautam Budh Nagar road in Uttar Pradesh.
Joshi, who was traveling from Faridabad to Noida, was spotted by local villagers on Monday morning after his motorcycle careened off the road and into the ditch.
Police said Joshi survived the crash but succumbed to his injuries due to the absence of medical attention at the secluded spot.
An inquiry has been carried out under Section 194 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the police are trying to ascertain why Joshi took this route and whether he had used an online map.
The road project, which aims to connect Faridabad and Noida via Gautam Buddha Nagar, was completed on the Haryana side but no construction work has taken place in Uttar Pradesh.
