The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, V K Saxena, of using 'diversionary tactics' to stay in the spotlight as the city struggles with severe pollution. The party claims Saxena has lost sight of his constitutional responsibilities and is instead targeting former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a letter. According to AAP, Saxena's actions are a desperate attempt to remain relevant as the BJP government in Delhi fails to tackle the pollution crisis. 'Pollution has not only affected the lungs of Delhi's residents but also the LG's memory,' said AAP National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda. Dhanda pointed out that Saxena, who was on a leisure trip to Gujarat, has returned to Delhi but appears disconnected from the gravity of the situation. 'If he had any questions on pollution, he should have asked the current Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta,' Dhanda emphasized. AAP questioned why Saxena is not holding the present administration accountable for the pollution crisis, which has worsened despite the imposition of GRAP-IV restrictions. 'The reality is that the BJP government in Delhi has completely failed, and that there are clear instructions to divert public attention,' Dhanda stated. AAP Spokesperson Ghanendra Bhardwaj added that Saxena's actions are nothing new, as he has been obstructing government work and criticizing initiatives during Arvind Kejriwal's tenure as Chief Minister. 'Today, the entire Delhi government stands in the dock for their failure to reduce pollution, yet the LG remains silent,' Bhardwaj said. The AAP has urged people and the media to stop giving undue attention to Saxena's 'theatrics' and instead focus on the BJP government's failure to tackle the pollution crisis.
