Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee was questioned by the CID for 6 hours over an allegedly provocative speech.

The FIR was registered on May 15 after a local resident complained about Banerjee's social media posts.

Banerjee had earlier challenged the FIR in the Calcutta High Court, which granted him protection until July 31.

The case will be heard again on July 20.
