Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh - The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has successfully launched its AI-Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC), aimed at streamlining crowd management and enhancing the pilgrim experience. The centre, inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in September, utilizes advanced AI systems to track real-time pilgrim flow and reduce waiting times. The ICCC enables the TTD to monitor the number of devotees waiting in the Vaikuntham Queue Complex, the number of compartments occupied, and the duration of waiting times. This data is displayed on the ICCC dashboard in real-time, allowing authorities to prioritize devotees who have been waiting for longer periods. The centre is equipped with CCTV footage and special cameras installed at Alipiri, which assess the crowd in real-time. Over 25 technical staff members supervise the centre, providing live updates to authorities. The TTD is also planning to procure 250 Facial Recognition Cameras, which will aid in identifying devotees, tracking movements, and ensuring safety. The primary objective of the ICCC is to improve temple administration efficiency and minimize waiting periods for pilgrims. The TTD is developing technology to track repeat visitors and creating a database of individuals with criminal histories, which will be integrated with AI systems to detect their presence among pilgrims if required. This initiative aims to create a seamless and secure experience for devotees visiting the temple.
