A dramatic last-minute cancellation at the Gannavaram Airport left high-profile passengers in shock on December 18. The Visakhapatnam-bound Air India Express flight, carrying former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister K Atchennaidu, and senior YSRCP leader B Satyanarayana, was grounded due to a technical issue detected while taxiing. According to airport officials, the aircraft suffered an engine problem around 8:30 pm on Thursday. However, an Air India Express spokesperson clarified that the issue was identified prior to departure, prompting the pilot to return to the ramp and cancel the flight. In a gesture of goodwill, the airline provided passengers with accommodation at a hotel and options for a full refund or complimentary rescheduling of their flight. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, reiterating its commitment to safety above all else. The incident highlights the airline's dedication to prioritizing passenger safety, even if it means cancelling a flight at the last minute.
