Air India Express, the low-cost arm of Tata Group's Air India, is set to launch commercial operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport on December 25. The airline will operate daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to New Delhi, its two largest domestic hubs, from the newly-constructed facility. This expansion is part of Air India Express' growing network from Bengaluru, one of its key hubs. By January 2026, the airline plans to increase its services to twice-daily on both routes. In addition to its new services from Navi Mumbai, Air India Express has recently introduced routes from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. The airline currently operates over 530 weekly flights from the city and has recently launched direct flights to international destinations such as Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh. According to Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, the airline is 'happy to work with the airport' to increase capacity and put Mumbai's transport hub back on a growth trajectory. Air India Express will offer direct connectivity to Bengaluru and New Delhi, with seamless onward connections on both its and Air India's networks. The airline currently operates over 500 daily flights, connecting 45 domestic and 16 international destinations with a fleet of 115 aircraft, comprising 75 Boeing 737s and 40 Airbus A320s. As Air India Express expands its operations at Navi Mumbai, it plans to add more flights in a phased manner.
