Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi has outlined India's plans for a tiered, networked drone capability fused with artillery, air defence, electronic warfare, and intelligence systems. In an interview, he emphasized the importance of drones in modern conflict and the need for a decisive battlefield outcome.

The army's restructuring is designed to deliver more decisive battlefield outcomes, with a focus on creating combat capabilities that are more agile, integrated, and responsive. The restructuring includes the formation of Rudra brigades, Bhairav battalions, and Shaktibaan regiments, which will enhance the army's ability to deliver integrated effects in a compressed timeframe.

The army chief also highlighted the importance of indigenisation in achieving modernisation priorities, which include multi-platform and multi-sensor real-time surveillance, long-range precision fires, and UAS and counter-UAS capabilities supported by AI-enabled decision systems.

Operation Sindoor, which demonstrated the Indian armed forces' ability to deliver swift, precise, and politically coherent military outcomes, has been hailed as a defining moment in the history of modern warfare. The operation validated the effectiveness of integrated planning, real-time intelligence fusion, and decisive leadership at all levels.

The security situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is stable but sensitive, with agreements on disengagement enhancing stability on the ground. Both sides are now showing greater responsiveness and sensitivity to each other's concerns, and a number of steps have been taken to maintain peace and tranquillity.
