Arrests Made in Nagaland Rehabilitation Centre Death Case: Owner Among Five Detained

In a shocking turn of events, five individuals, including the owner of a Nagaland rehabilitation centre, have been arrested in connection with the death of 46-year-old Pradeep Basumatary. The development comes after a thorough investigation by the Diphuphar police station, which was triggered by the discovery of severe injury marks on Basumatary's body. According to officials, Basumatary was brought to the Referral Hospital in a critical condition on Wednesday, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A mandatory inquest revealed multiple visible injuries, including bruises on his lower limbs, buttocks, legs, left cheek, and left hand. The police suspect that these injuries were caused by blunt-force assault. Following the initial findings, police took four individuals directly involved in the incident, along with the rehabilitation centre's owner, into custody. A detailed investigation is underway, with all forensic, technical, and procedural steps being meticulously documented to ensure accountability and swift justice. The incident has also prompted a parallel inquiry into the rehabilitation centre's operations, including its licensing status, compliance with operational regulations, and the adequacy of its medical and mental health facilities.
