In a call to action, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional values and strengthening national unity. The leaders made these remarks on November 26, which marks Constitution Day, a celebration of the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. Parnaik highlighted the significance of the day, noting that it serves as a reminder of the vision, wisdom, and labor that shaped modern India. He praised the work of B R Ambedkar, the chairman of the drafting committee, who devoted his life to creating a constitutional framework that safeguards the rights and dignity of every citizen. The governor also emphasized Ambedkar's legacy as a jurist and champion of equality, which continues to inspire the nation. Khandu echoed these sentiments, saluting the vision of Ambedkar and the members of the Constituent Assembly who gave India a constitution founded on justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. Both leaders urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to constitutional ideals and democratic responsibilities. Observed annually on November 26, Constitution Day is an occasion for citizens, institutions, and governments across India to honor the work of the Constituent Assembly and reinforce the importance of fundamental rights, duties, and values that guide the nation.
