In a show of unity, workers from the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) gathered in Bhopal on Sunday to protest against the recent comments made by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Maulana Mahmood Madani. The protesters, holding banners and chanting slogans, called for Madani to apologize and for authorities to take action against his remarks, which they deemed divisive and capable of sparking social unrest. Madani's comments, made at the National Governing Body meeting in Bhopal, sparked the outrage. He expressed concerns about the state of India's judiciary and social fabric, alleging that constitutional rights are being eroded and minority communities are being targeted. Citing high-profile cases like the Babri Masjid demolition and the triple talaq verdict, Madani questioned the independence of the judiciary, stating that the Supreme Court can only be considered supreme if it upholds the Constitution and the law. Madani also highlighted issues such as bulldozer actions, mob lynching, and the seizure of Waqf properties, which he said have made Muslims feel vulnerable. He criticized anti-conversion laws, saying they undermine the right to freedom of religion. Furthermore, he drew attention to the issue of Vande Mataram, stating that surrendering communities are 'murda kaum' (dead communities), whereas living communities face challenges head-on. The protest demonstrates the strong emotions evoked by Madani's comments, with protesters demanding action against what they perceive as a threat to social harmony.
