A low-pressure system is expected to form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal by November 22, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The system is predicted to intensify into a depression by November 24, prompting a heavy rain alert in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A cyclone, if it forms, will be named 'Senyar', meaning 'lion', submitted by the United Arab Emirates as part of the North Indian Ocean cyclone naming roster. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted for the Nicobar Islands, with lighter rainfall expected in the Andaman Islands. Thunderstorms with strong winds and lightning are also predicted for the islands on November 24 and 25. The Andaman Sea is expected to experience squally weather, with surface wind speeds of 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph. The sea conditions will be rough, prompting an advisory against venturing into the Andaman Sea until November 23. The Port Blair Port has issued a Local Cautionary Signal-3, while boat owners, locals, and tourists have been advised to exercise caution while engaging in recreational activities near the sea. The administration has also issued safety guidelines for the public to follow.
