A daring cash van heist in south Bengaluru, which had been meticulously planned over three months, has been cracked by police. According to investigators, the gang spent months mapping the cash van's daily routes, timing crew breaks, and identifying blind spots to ensure a smooth execution. The gang, which struck on November 19, targeted the CMS Info Systems' cash van during the peak cash replenishment schedule at multiple ATMs in the area. They used two or more vehicles, frequently changing number plates to evade detection, and stole non-serialised currency to make tracing the money impossible. To avoid detection, the suspects used an internet calling app to communicate, switching languages mid-conversation to confuse potential witnesses. They also monitored real-time media updates to stay ahead of police leads. Thanks to the efforts of Constable Naik, who supervised the operation, police have now identified key members of the gang and are tracking their movements over the past three months. Forensic leads and surveillance footage have helped investigators piece together the evidence, leading to a major breakthrough in the case.
