In a significant move, the newly formed Bihar Cabinet has set its sights on transforming the state into a major tech hub in eastern India. During its first meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the council of ministers approved a comprehensive plan to provide one crore jobs to the state's youth over the next five years. The ambitious plan aims to establish a defence corridor, semiconductor manufacturing park, and other cutting-edge infrastructure projects, including a mega tech city and fitness city. The goal is to make Bihar a major hub for the back-end operations and global workplaces. To achieve this target, dedicated committees have been formed to oversee the implementation of these projects. Additionally, a committee has been set up to promote employment-oriented initiatives in the start-up domain, aiming to provide livelihood opportunities for young entrepreneurs. The government has also announced plans to revive nine closed sugar mills and establish 25 new ones. Furthermore, greenfield township projects will be implemented in eleven cities, including nine divisional towns, Sonepur, and Sitamarhi. The Cabinet has also approved an Artificial Intelligence Mission to make Bihar a leading state in the AI domain. With this plan, the state is set to take a significant step towards becoming a major economic player in the country.
