In the aftermath of the Bihar assembly elections, where the NDA secured a landslide victory, Congress workers in Patna staged a protest against state party chief Rajesh Ram and Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru. The demonstration was a response to the party's dismal performance, winning only 35 seats out of 243. The situation has taken a turn for the worse, with the state women's wing president, Sarwat Jahan Fatema, resigning from her post due to the party's lack of representation for women. Fatema expressed her disappointment that only eight percent of the party's candidates were women, and she was not given a ticket to contest the election. Rahul Gandhi's comments dismissing the election as 'unfair' have added to the controversy, while Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has announced a study to understand the reasons behind the party's loss. The 'Ticket Chor, Gaddi Chhod' protests, which targeted Rajesh Ram and Krishna Allavaru, highlighted the growing discontent within the party. Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, alias Pappu Yadav, attempted to calm the protesters but was met with anger and accusations of working with non-political leaders and selling party tickets. Fatema's resignation letter highlighted the party's failure to deliver on its promise of women's empowerment, stating that she was the first women's wing president not to receive a party ticket. Her decision has dealt a significant blow to the Bihar Congress, which is already reeling from the effects of the election loss.
