In a major crackdown, Bihar police have rescued 17 minor girls from alleged trafficking and arrested three individuals in the Rohtas district. The operation, led by additional SP Saket Kumar, targeted a suspected trafficking ring in Bardihan village, where the girls from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh were being held against their will. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Raushan Kumar, the girls were lured with promises of work and then forced into bonded labor. The three arrested individuals, Mamta Vishwakarma, Gita Kunwar, and Raman Kumar Paswan alias Munna, were identified as key operators in the racket. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they targeted minor girls from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. The police are now investigating the backgrounds of the arrested individuals and conducting raids to apprehend the remaining five accused operators and their associates. The rescued girls, aged 13-18, have been sent to a children's home in Mohania, Kaimur district, for rehabilitation. The National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights has been informed about the incident, and authorities in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have been asked to take steps to prevent such cases in the future. This is the second major trafficking rescue in Bihar this year, following a similar operation in March that freed 47 minor tribal children from Chhattisgarh.
