A day after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee warned the centre over the SIR issue, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari hit back at her remarks. Addressing a 'Parivartan Yatra' rally in Haldia, Adhikari said that the people of Bengal would give Mamata a severe shock in the upcoming assembly elections, leaving her with nothing. "You said you'll shake India, but the people of Bengal will shake you so hard in April that you'll be left begging on the streets of Kalighat," Adhikari said. The BJP leader targeted the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing it of crossing every moral line in its pursuit of power. He alleged that the party had become so corrupt that it was selling the eyes of deceased people and had even eaten away people's rights. "You have seen it all - from ballot papers to people's rights. We must defeat these thieves in the upcoming Assembly elections," Adhikari said. Adhikari also campaigned for 'Parivartan' and asserted that the BJP's resolution was to work for every hand, provide food for every stomach, and a roof over every head. He also promised to revive education institutions, ensure women's safety, and protect the 'kanyashree' program.
