Patna, India: Nitin Nabin, the newly appointed national working president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has expressed his commitment to strengthening the organisation and building new leadership within the party. Nabin, who is 45 years old and the youngest working president in BJP history, was appointed after being handpicked by the party's parliamentary board due to his grassroots and organisational strength. Nabin, a seasoned politician with a strong background in public service, has served as a five-time legislator, minister for road construction in Bihar, and president of the Yuva Morcha's Bihar unit. He has also played key roles in the BJP's election campaigns, including serving as the election in-charge for Sikkim in 2019 and Chhattisgarh in 2023. As the BJP gears up for next year's assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry, Nabin's appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party's presence in eastern India, a region considered crucial for both parliamentary arithmetic and long-term expansion. Nabin's elevation is also expected to help the BJP reach out to the Kayastha community, which had traditionally supported the party but felt neglected due to the denial of tickets to Kayastha candidates in Kayastha-dominated regions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Nabin as a 'young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience' in a post on X, praising his impressive record as an MLA and minister. Nabin's appointment has been welcomed by BJP leaders, who attribute his success to his ability to deliver on difficult political assignments, his alignment with the party's leadership, and his strong grasp of the party's organisation and ground-level work. With his appointment, Nabin is set to embark on a new journey, one that is expected to be filled with challenges and opportunities for growth, both for himself and the BJP.
