The BJP has accused the TMC and Congress of being part of a 'conspiracy' to seize power in India through infiltrators, citing their objections to the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that the SIR exercise is necessary to ensure that power is not captured through 'infiltrators' in any state. Trivedi targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for making 'baseless' allegations against the Election Commission and spreading misinformation. He also accused opposition parties of supporting a conspiracy to disrupt the constitutional process of cleaning voter lists. The BJP leader pointed to reports of a Jharkhand cabinet minister asking people to lock up block-level officers seeking information and a TMC worker allegedly threatening a BLO over the phone. He questioned the Congress on whether the Constitution is under threat when such threats are made. Trivedi also took aim at Gandhi's baseless allegations against the SIR and Banerjee's stance against the voter roll revision, accusing her of negating her own stand on Bangladeshi infiltration in West Bengal. He blamed opposition parties for allegedly raising slogans in support of a slain Maoist leader and for celebrating the killing of CRPF personnel in 2010. In response to questions on the Red Fort blast, the BJP leader said that investigative agencies' findings have demolished the argument that only poor, oppressed, and uneducated youth join terrorism. He claimed that well-educated individuals were involved in hatching a terror conspiracy and that pseudo-secularism is a threat to India, not secularism itself.
