The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in Mumbai has summoned Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor's brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, and popular social media personality Orry in connection with a ₹252-crore drugs case. The case, which dates back to August 2022, involves alleged drug traffickers, including Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, who was recently deported from the UAE. Shaikh claimed that several high-profile individuals, including film producers Abbas-Mustan, rapper Loka, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique, attended lavish parties in Dubai and Mumbai that he arranged. However, the crime branch has yet to verify these claims as their investigation is still in its preliminary stages. The investigation has revealed that luxury cars, including Mercedes and BMWs, were used to transport drugs to avoid suspicion. The traffickers allegedly used hawala channels to send money collected from distributors to key players in Dubai. In a major breakthrough, a mephedrone-manufacturing facility in a farm in Sangli district was busted in March 2024. The facility was allegedly controlled by wanted drug trafficker Salim Dola, a key member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, and his son Taher. Taher was deported from the UAE and arrested by Mumbai police in June this year. Orry is likely to be questioned about revelations made by Shaikh, while Siddhanth Kapoor has already appeared before the ANC for questioning. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
