Bus-Truck Collision Claims 4 Lives, Leaves 16 Injured on Jodhpur-Jaisalmer Highway

A devastating bus accident occurred on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of four lives and injuring 16 others. The incident happened when a bus, carrying 20 passengers returning from a pilgrimage to the Baba Ramdev shrine in Jaisalmer district, collided head-on with a trailer truck on the Jodhpur-Jaisalmer highway. The crash occurred near the Mulanada royalty checkpoint in Keru village at approximately 4:30 pm. The bus was carrying residents of Ramana Rupan village in Gujarat's Aravalli district, who were on their way back from the shrine. The injured passengers were rushed to MDM Hospital for treatment, while the bodies were kept in the mortuary awaiting identification and handover to the family members. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, at least 18 people lost their lives and over 100 were injured in a series of road accidents across Uttar Pradesh due to dense fog and low visibility. The incidents involved multiple vehicles, including buses, trucks, cars, and motorcycles, resulting in collisions, pile-ups, and overturns on major roads. The deadliest incidents were reported from Kanpur and Amethi, where two cyclists and two people were killed in separate accidents. In Bareilly, a roadways bus driver lost his life in a chain collision involving a truck, a canter, and buses near the Dwarkesh Sugar Mill.
