In a testament to their bravery, nineteen CISF personnel have been awarded the prestigious DG's Disc for their exceptional courage during Operation Sindoor. The heroes, deployed to secure a hydroelectric power project in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, successfully evacuated over 250 civilians, including women and children, amidst intense Pakistani shelling in the intervening night of May 6-7. The CISF personnel, who received the DG's Disc from Director General Praveer Ranjan, demonstrated extraordinary valor and prompt action in evacuating civilians, neutralizing hostile drones, and securing critical assets. Their selfless efforts ensured the safe evacuation of civilians, preventing any loss of life, and maintaining the integrity of national assets. The operation was part of a broader military campaign launched by the Indian military in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives in April this year. The CISF personnel, who were recognized for their outstanding bravery and resolute duty, include Commanding Officer Ravi Yadav, Deputy Commandant Manohar Singh, and several others. The CISF, with over 2.80 lakh personnel, plays a crucial role in guarding critical infrastructure, including civil airports, nuclear facilities, and space installations. Their bravery and dedication to duty have earned them recognition and respect, not only within the force but also across the nation.
