Congress Leaders Unite Ahead of Winter Session: Electoral Reforms and National Issues Top Agenda

Congress leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, gathered at Sonia Gandhi's residence on Sunday to strategize for the Winter session of Parliament. The meeting aimed to solidify the party's stance on key issues, including electoral reforms and national security concerns. According to Congress deputy leader Pramod Tiwari, opposition leaders will meet on Monday to finalize their joint strategy in Parliament. The meeting comes after an all-party discussion and a Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Rajya Sabha. Tiwari emphasized that the entire Opposition is united in demanding a discussion on electoral reforms, which includes the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He stated that the parliamentary affairs minister has indicated a willingness to consider this discussion. The Congress leader highlighted several pressing issues that require parliamentary attention, including the safety of national security, rising prices, unemployment, and the federal structure. He also emphasized the need to discuss air pollution in the national capital. With a united front, Congress leaders will meet on Monday at 10 am in the Rajya Sabha chamber to determine their next course of action and finalize their strategy. Senior leaders Jairam Ramesh, Manish Tewari, and Manickam Tagore were also present at the meeting.
