A heated confrontation erupted in the Lok Sabha on Monday as BJP lawmakers accused the Congress of making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public rally. The incident, which took place on Sunday, involved a slogan that seemed to call for the Prime Minister's grave to be dug. Union minister Kiren Rijiju raised the issue in the Lok Sabha, demanding a formal apology from the Congress party and its senior leaders. The rally, attended by top Congress leaders including President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, marked a significant escalation in the Congress's campaign against the BJP over alleged vote theft and electoral roll revisions. The BJP has condemned the Congress's actions, labeling them 'deeply unfortunate' and 'politically degenerate'. The issue has spilled over to the Rajya Sabha, where Union health minister JP Nadda has also demanded an apology from Kharge and Sonia Gandhi. The Congress, however, has hit back by accusing Union home minister Amit Shah of using foul language in a recent speech in the Lok Sabha. The development has led to renewed sloganeering and adjournments in both Houses of Parliament, further escalating the tension between the two parties.
