Cyclone Ditwah Brings 4-Day Rain and Wind Warning for Andhra Pradesh

A powerful cyclonic storm, Ditwah, is set to bring four days of heavy rain and strong winds to Andhra Pradesh, starting from November 30. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the storm is moving northwards over the Bay of Bengal and is expected to affect several districts in the state. Heavy rainfall is forecasted for isolated places in Tirupati, Chittoor, Prakasam, Nellore, Kadapa, and Annamayya districts, with thunderstorms and lightning possible in some areas. The IMD has issued a warning for extremely heavy rainfall in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on November 30. Fishermen have been advised to stay away from the sea, and the public has been urged to remain cautious due to the predicted strong winds, which could reach up to 60 kmph. The storm is expected to bring gale-force winds up to 70 kmph on November 30. Cyclone Ditwah, named after a lagoon in Yemen, is expected to cause disruptions in the region for the next four days. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has been put on high alert to respond to any emergencies that may arise during this period.
