The mother of Deepti Chaurasia, the daughter-in-law of Kamal Kishor Chaurasia, a prominent pan masala brand owner, has accused her husband and mother-in-law of years of physical and emotional abuse. Deepti was found dead in her Delhi home, with police registering a case against her husband and mother-in-law following her mother's complaint. According to the complaint, Deepti's marriage to her husband in 2010 was followed by months of harassment, despite assurances that it would stop. The abuse allegedly continued, with Deepti's mother-in-law mistreating her, defaming her in social circles, and excluding her from family events. A few days before her death, Deepti's husband had traveled abroad, and the couple had a heated argument upon his return. On the day of her death, Deepti spoke to her mother over the phone, mentioning the argument, and inquired about her father's health. Her mother advised her to stay calm, but later received no response when she called Deepti. Deepti's body was found hanging in her home, and she was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead. The Delhi Police have registered an FIR against her husband and mother-in-law, and the case is being probed from all angles, including a possible CBI investigation. The family's allegations of abuse and harassment have sparked outrage, with many calling for a thorough investigation into Deepti's death.
