A high-profile investigation is underway in India after a key witness implicated Dawood Ibrahim's nephew, Orry, and several Bollywood celebrities in a string of lavish parties in Dubai and Mumbai. The probe, led by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police, was sparked by the interrogation of Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, a convicted drug trafficker who recently returned to India from the UAE. Shaikh, a close associate of fugitive Salim Dola, a key member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, claimed to have organized these extravagant events, which were attended by Orry, the son of Dawood's sister, Haseena Parkar, who passed away. Other notable guests included actress Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, her brother Siddharth Kapoor, film producers Abbas-Mustan, rapper Loka, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique. The ANC has summoned Orry to join the investigation, and his representative has agreed to cooperate. However, the crime branch has yet to verify the claims made by Shaikh, citing the preliminary stage of their investigation. The case has its roots in a mephedrone bust in August 2022, which led to the arrest of several alleged drug peddlers. In a significant breakthrough in March 2024, a mephedrone-manufacturing facility in Sangli district was shut down, with authorities implicating Salim Dola and his son Tahe in the operation. The investigation has also led to the deportation of several individuals, including Mustaffa Mohammad Khubbawala, a relative of Salim Dola. Shaikh, who was arrested on November 5, admitted to running multiple drug-manufacturing units and distributing substances like cocaine, MDMA, hashish, and mephedrone. The ANC is expected to question Orry and other celebrities mentioned in Shaikh's statement, which could have far-reaching implications for the entertainment industry and Indian politics.
