New Delhi: A key suspect in the Delhi blast case has revealed to NIA investigators that a group of five doctors collectively raised ₹26 lakh to fund coordinated terror strikes. Muzammil Ganaie, one of the accused, reportedly admitted to contributing ₹5 lakh to the fund while other doctors contributed varying amounts. The money was allegedly handed over to Dr Umar Un-Nabi Mohammad, indicating his role in the execution phase. Ganaie also disclosed that he sourced 26 quintals of NPK fertiliser from Gurugram and Nuh for approximately ₹3 lakh. The fertiliser was allegedly converted into explosive material under Umar's supervision, along with remote detonators and circuitry. The NIA has arrested three doctors, including Ganaie, Shahid, and Adeel Rather. Authorities are searching for Muzaffar Ahmad Rather, who is suspected to be in Afghanistan, and Nissar ul-Hassan, who worked with the accused doctors. The purported confession has helped link scattered leads and reinforced suspicions of a plan to carry out serial blasts. NIA officials are now focusing on identifying upstream suppliers and verifying whether professional credentials were misused. The investigation has revealed a deeply embedded network operating with academic cover, and authorities aim to uncover every node in the network. A confession in a court of law requires a magistrate or court presence, which has not been confirmed in this case.
