The Faridabad police have revealed that Dr Shaheen Shahid, a suspect in the Delhi blast case, planned to recruit women to carry out a terrorist act. Shahid, a former pharmacologist at Al-Falah University, was brought to the university campus for questioning by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday. According to police sources, Shahid's questioning led to the recovery of ₹18.5 lakh in cash, gold biscuits, and foreign currency from her hostel room at the university. The NIA also identified several locations linked to Shahid, including a chemical shop where another suspect, Dr Muzammil, allegedly purchased materials to prepare explosives. Shahid, who had worked as a professor at a medical college in Saudi Arabia from 2014 to 2018, was taken to various locations on the university campus, including the medical ward, classroom, and her cabin, as part of the investigation. The NIA has prepared a list of people with whom Shahid interacted during her stay at the university. The investigation has revealed that Shahid was active in terrorist activities while at Al-Falah University and was creating a network by connecting people on campus. The NIA is expected to bring in more suspects for questioning and identification as the probe continues.
