Delhi Braces for Chilly Winter: City Sees Coldest November in 5 Years

Delhi's winter chill has finally set in, with the city recording its coldest November in five years, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The average minimum temperature this November was a chilly 11.5 degrees Celsius, a significant drop from the 14.7 degrees Celsius recorded last year. The maximum temperature during the day also remained lower than in 2023, with the average maximum temperature settling at 27.7 degrees Celsius. This is in contrast to 29.4 degrees Celsius recorded last year, making the days feel pleasantly cool. A dry spell has also continued in the city, with no rainfall recorded in November, unlike last year when there were two rainy days. The lowest minimum temperature this month was 8 degrees Celsius, a significant drop from 9.5 degrees Celsius in 2024 and 9.2 degrees Celsius in 2023. On Saturday, the national capital recorded a minimum of 10.4 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, and a maximum of 26.5 degrees, 0.5 notches above normal. The IMD has forecasted fog for Sunday, indicating a prolonged cold spell in the city.
