Delhi is expected to experience a 'cold day' on Sunday, with temperatures plummeting to 8°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The air quality in the city, meanwhile, remains toxic, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) touching 387 at 8 am on Sunday. The IMD forecasts a partly cloudy sky and cold day conditions in isolated areas, with dense fog possible in the morning hours. While the minimum temperature is expected to rise by 2-3°C in the next 3-4 days, it will fall by the same amount thereafter. Flight operations were disrupted due to low visibility caused by dense fog, with airlines issuing travel advisories. The IMD has predicted a partly cloudy sky with moderate fog for Monday, with the minimum temperature expected to be around 20-22°C. This comes after Delhi recorded its coldest December day of the winter season on December 18, with the maximum temperature settling at 20.1°C, 2.1°C below the normal. Cold wave conditions are also likely in several states, including Karnataka, Telangana, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and East Uttar Pradesh.
