Delhi residents braced themselves for another chilly day as the city recorded a minimum temperature of 4.4°C, the third consecutive day of sub-zero visibility due to dense fog. The poor air quality persisted, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) remaining in the 'very poor' category, posing health concerns for the population. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a slight respite from the cold wave, with temperatures expected to rise to 9°C on Monday before dipping again. However, the intense cold wave is unlikely to return to its previous levels, which saw Delhi's minimum temperature plummet to 2.9°C in January. Delhi's air quality woes have been ongoing since November, with the city's AQI frequently hovering in the 'poor,' 'very poor,' and 'severe' categories. The dense fog that has enveloped the city has further exacerbated the situation, making it difficult for residents to navigate the streets. Flight schedules at the Indira Gandhi International Airport were disrupted due to the poor visibility, prompting passengers to check their flight statuses before heading to the airport. As the city struggles with both cold temperatures and poor air quality, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy.
