A Delhi court has granted Umar Khalid, a former JNU student leader accused in the Delhi riots conspiracy case, two weeks of interim bail to attend his sister's wedding. Khalid is required to furnish a personal bond of ₹20,000 and two sureties. The court also issued a condition, prohibiting him from using social media and limiting his interactions to family, relatives, and friends. This is not Khalid's first temporary release; he was previously granted a seven-day bail in January to attend a family wedding. Khalid, along with several other activists, faces charges under the UAPA and other laws for allegedly masterminding the 2020 Delhi riots, which resulted in 53 fatalities and over 700 injuries.
