The Delhi High Court has denied a request from Red Fort blast co-accused Jasir Bilal Wani to meet his lawyer at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters. Refusing to pass an order in favor of Wani, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma pointed out that he had failed to provide a copy of the trial court's order rejecting his initial request. The judge emphasized that a standard process must be followed, and no special procedure can be created for Wani. She questioned Wani's counsel, who claimed that the trial court had orally rejected the request, stating that there must be a written order before a petition can be filed. Wani's arrest on November 17 was in connection with the Red Fort car blast that occurred on November 10, claiming 15 lives. He is alleged to be an active co-conspirator and was remanded to 10 days in NIA custody on November 18. The NIA has arrested six individuals in connection with the blast, including Wani, and they are currently in custody. The high court granted liberty to Wani's counsel to approach the trial court on Saturday for further adjudication of the plea. Wani's alleged role in the blast involves providing technical support for terror attacks, including modifying drones and attempting to make rockets.
