Delhi Metro Offers Early Services for Upcoming MCD Bypolls: Know the Schedule

To facilitate the smooth movement of polling staff and personnel for the upcoming MCD bye-elections, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special early-morning services on polling day (November 30) and counting day (December 3). The metro schedule has been modified on both days to cater to the needs of the deployed staff across 12 wards. The DMRC will operate the metro at 4 am on Sunday and Wednesday, with services running at a frequency of 30 minutes until 6 am. The early services will ensure that polling personnel and staff can reach their destinations on time. According to the DMRC, on polling day, November 30, trains will start from all terminal stations at 4:00 am, with a frequency of 30 minutes until 6:00 am, followed by regular services as per the Sunday timetable. The last train service from all terminal stations will depart at 11:30 pm instead of the usual 11:00 pm. On counting day, December 3, services will commence at 4:00 am with a frequency of 30 minutes till 6:00 am, followed by the regular weekday timetable. The State Election Commissioner, Vijay Dev, has imposed a 48-hour silence period ahead of the by-elections to ensure fair polling. All forms of election-related publicity, including opinion poll findings or survey results, are prohibited on all media platforms until 5:30 pm on November 30. A total of 132 candidates have filed nominations for the 12 seats, with 59 men and 74 women candidates. The scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled for November 12, and candidates may withdraw their names until 15 November. Polling for the 12 wards will be held on November 30.
