Delhi's first-ever women's police station was inaugurated in the Subzi Mandi area of north Delhi, aiming to strengthen women's safety and improve the handling of crimes against them.

The station, which has jurisdiction over the entire North district, will handle cases of all categories of crimes against women, including domestic violence, harassment, and others.

The facility has been designed as a women-and child-friendly environment, providing a safe and accessible space for complainants and survivors to interact with trained officers.

Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing the importance of the station as a symbol of confidence and trust for women and families seeking assistance and justice.

The true success of the initiative will be measured by the confidence it inspires among women and girls, said Sandhu, adding that a safe environment empowers women to participate fully in education, employment, and public life.

The newly established police station will investigate all categories of crimes against women and children, including serious offences like rape, sexual assault, and stalking.
