Delhi Police Crackdown Yields Shocking Seizures Ahead of New Year Celebrations

In a major operation to curb organized crime and ensure public safety ahead of New Year celebrations, Delhi Police launched 'Operation Aaghat 3.0' in South-East Delhi. Over 600 police officers were deployed to carry out the operation, which resulted in the arrest of 331 people and apprehension of 504 others under various provisions. The crackdown led to the seizure of a significant amount of illicit goods, including 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges, and 27 knives. The police also confiscated 6.01 kg of ganja, ₹2.36 lakh in cash from gamblers, and 12,258 quarters of illegal liquor. Additionally, the police recovered six two-wheelers, one four-wheeler, and 310 mobile phones. According to officials, the operation has led to a reduction in street crime in the South-East district area over the past month due to intensified patrolling, vehicle checking, and night surveillance. The police identified and apprehended 116 individuals listed as 'bad characters', five auto-lifters, and four proclaimed offenders. The operation's success is a testament to the police's efforts to maintain law and order in the national capital and ensure public safety during the New Year celebrations. The Delhi Police's crackdown on organized crime and illicit activities will continue to be a priority in the coming months.
