Delhi's air quality has remained 'very poor' despite a slight improvement from Tuesday's levels. On Thursday, the minimum temperature marginally rose to 8.3°C, marking a slight increase from the season's lowest temperature of 8°C recorded a day earlier. However, this is still lower than the 9°C recorded on Tuesday and 9.3°C on Monday. The average air quality index (AQI) stood at 355 at 9am, with a slight improvement to 327 at 4pm on Wednesday. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) had revoked Stage 3 restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) despite forecasts indicating continued 'very poor' air quality. This move allowed private construction and demolition activities to resume in the National Capital Region (NCR), along with the lifting of restrictions on older vehicles and office attendance. Despite the revocation, experts warn that the air quality will remain a concern in the coming days. Delhi has recorded 21 consecutive days of AQI above 300, surpassing last year's record of 32 straight days between October 30 and November 30. The city's air quality woes have been a persistent concern, with experts calling for more stringent pollution control measures to mitigate the issue.
