Delhi's deteriorating air quality has prompted a sudden shift in the city's schools. In a new directive, the government has ordered all schools to move their students up to Class V to fully online classes, starting immediately. This decision comes in response to the alarming air pollution levels that have reached hazardous levels, prompting Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to be activated. The decision to switch to online classes for younger students marks a significant change from the previous hybrid model, where schools remained open for students up to Class IX and Class XI, with online attendance being voluntary. The new measure aims to minimize exposure to the hazardous air quality, ensuring the health and safety of Delhi's youngest students.
