Dharamshala, Nov 28 - Thousands of state employees and pensioners took to the streets in Dharamshala on Friday, voicing their frustration with the Sukhu government's handling of key issues. Led by Ghanshyam Sharma, national senior vice president of the Indian State Pensioners Federation, the protesters warned that their agitation would intensify if their demands are not met. The protesters, representing various employee and pensioner organisations, are seeking immediate action on long-pending issues, including Dearness Allowance, salaries, pension payments, and medical bill clearance. They are also demanding the reinstatement of Himcare benefits and the fulfillment of Old Pension Scheme commitments. Addressing the rally, Sharma accused the government of failing to deliver on promises made to employees and pensioners. "Despite assurances, most of these promises remain unfulfilled, and the situation is deteriorating," he said. Speakers at the rally expressed anger over the government's alleged neglect of employee-related issues during the ongoing winter session of the state Assembly. They also criticized the decision to shift the protest venue, calling it a sign of the government's "panic" and "anti-employee attitude.
