A devastating accident has shaken the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, where a vehicle carrying 17 personnel plunged 200 feet into a gorge, claiming the lives of 10 brave soldiers. The incident occurred on a high-altitude post when the driver lost control of the bullet-proof vehicle. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, saying, 'We will always remember the outstanding service and supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers.' He also assured the injured soldiers of the best possible treatment, with four of them airlifted to Udhampur military hospital for specialized care. This tragedy comes on the heels of another accident in Gulmarg sector, where two army porters slipped to their deaths in a deep gorge on January 8. In a separate incident in May, three Army personnel lost their lives when their vehicle skidded into a 700-foot-deep gorge in Ramban district. The Indian Army has launched a joint rescue operation with the police, with officials working tirelessly to recover the bodies of the deceased and ensure the safe recovery of the injured. The nation stands united with the bereaved families in this moment of profound sorrow.
