Thiruvananthapuram - The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), a youth wing of the ruling Communist Party of India (CPI), has strongly criticized Vellappally Natesan, General Secretary of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP), for labeling a TV reporter as an 'extremist'. The DYFI argues that such statements undermine the unity of people and weaken collective efforts against divisive forces. The controversy began when a journalist questioned Natesan about his comments on Malappuram district. Television footage showed Natesan reacting angrily and pushing aside the journalist's microphone. Natesan later claimed that the reporter was an 'extremist' and a spokesperson for Muslims, and defended his behavior, saying the journalist spoke to him in a disrespectful manner. The DYFI has urged Natesan to withdraw his statements, citing the need for united ideological resistance against attempts to divide society along religious and caste lines. The Kerala Union of Working Journalists has also criticized Natesan's remarks. The incident highlights the importance of maintaining a professional and respectful attitude towards journalists and upholding the principles of Sree Narayana Dharma.
