**Revised Title:** ED Links Tamil Nadu Minister to ₹366-Cr Bribery Racket in Official Transfers **Revised Article:** The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent a letter to the Tamil Nadu government, alleging that Minister K N Nehru is linked to a massive bribery racket involving ₹366 crore in the Department of Municipal Administration Urban and Water Supply. The agency claims to have recovered evidence of bribes being collected for the transfer and posting of government officials and engineers. According to officials, the ED had first noticed the alleged corruption instances in April 2025 during searches in a bank loan fraud case, where relatives and associates of Nehru were involved. Although the CBI FIR in the case was later quashed, the ED utilized its powers under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to share the information with the state government and police. The ED has alleged that bribe amounts ranging from ₹7 lakh to ₹1 crore were being transacted in the case of about 340 municipal administration urban and water supply department officials. The agency claims that the bribe funds were utilized in real estate, investments in other properties, including foreign assets, gold bullion, and luxury expenditure. The ED has sought the registration of a police FIR against Minister Nehru and others linked to him, citing a Supreme Court ruling in the Vijay Madanlal Choudhary case of 2022. The agency has also stated that filing a police FIR is essential to ensure that the culprits do not go unpunished and the proceeds of crime are secured and dealt with as per the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. This is not the first time the ED has raised allegations against Minister Nehru. In October and December last year, the agency had shared two separate letters with the state government authorities, claiming widespread corruption in the department's tenders and recruitments. Minister Nehru had defended himself, saying he was being targeted by the ED to defame him.
