Ex-Councillor, Son Held for Murder in Kerala Over Financial Dispute

A former municipal councillor and his son are in custody for allegedly stabbing a 23-year-old man to death in a dispute over financial issues in Kerala. Adarsh, a resident of Manganam, Puthupally, was attacked by Abhijith, also known as Vava, and his father Anilkumar in front of their house in Mannikunnam early on Monday. According to police, Adarsh and his friends had gone to the house to settle a financial dispute, which led to a fight. Abhijith allegedly stabbed Adarsh in the neck with a knife. Adarsh was rushed to Kottayam Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have registered a murder case against Abhijith and are investigating the role of his father. Both Abhijith and Adarsh were involved in multiple narcotic-related cases, officials said. The body will be handed over to relatives after a postmortem.
