Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has accused Pakistan of orchestrating terror attacks in India, citing the recent Red Fort blast that claimed at least 10 lives. Fadnavis believes Pakistan's strategy is to avoid direct confrontation with India, instead opting for covert operations. Fadnavis praised the country's security agencies for foiling a white-collar terror module, which had amassed 3,000 kg of ammunition for potential attacks in Mumbai and other cities. He claimed that the terror group had planned to detonate bombs in various parts of the country, including Mumbai. Fadnavis' comments come as India celebrates the upcoming 17th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, which claimed 166 lives. The attack was orchestrated by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba militants who infiltrated the city via the sea route. Fadnavis emphasized the importance of national unity in the face of terrorism, stating that India's strength lies in its ability to stand together against threats. He also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving the armed forces the freedom to take action against terrorism, as seen in Operation Sindoor. The Maharashtra chief minister's remarks also touched on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed at least 26 tourists. India had launched a targeted operation against terror infrastructure across the border in May 2025, following the Pahalgam attack. Fadnavis' statements highlight the ongoing threat of terrorism in the region and the need for vigilance and cooperation among citizens to counter this menace.
