On the death anniversary of the Kakori Train Action martyrs, the family of Ashfaqullah Khan, one of the executed revolutionaries, has urged the government to introduce educational programs in schools to teach students about the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Khan believes that his grandfather's legacy should live on, as he had wished during their last meeting in jail. He wants the government to organize programs in schools where teachers explain how revolutionaries like him willingly gave their lives for the country's freedom. The district administration has declared a local holiday in Shahjahanpur to commemorate the martyrs. However, Khan suggests that the holiday should be accompanied by educational programs that highlight the stories of these freedom fighters. He also wants their sacrifices to be included in the government curriculum so that future generations understand their contributions. The district magistrate has welcomed the suggestion and stated that it could be considered seriously. He believes that such programs would strengthen patriotism and nation-building among children, bring history alive, and help preserve the historical identity of Shahjahanpur. Top officials, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, have paid tributes to the martyrs, describing them as heroes of the 'Kakori Train Action' whose sacrifice is an eternal echo of India's pride. The Kakori Train Action took place on August 9, 1925, when Indian freedom fighters looted the British government treasury from a train near Kakori. Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan, and Thakur Roshan Singh were later hanged on December 19, 1927, for their role in the incident.
