Fatal Crash in Vasant Kunj: 1 Dead, 2 Injured as Speeding Mercedes Hits Pedestrians Near Ambience Mall

A tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday near Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. A speeding Mercedes, driven by a 29-year-old Karol Bagh resident, lost control and crashed into a roadside pole, killing one person and injuring two others. The victims, all employees of a restaurant in the mall, were standing at an auto stand when the accident occurred. The driver, Shivam, had borrowed his friend's Mercedes to attend a wedding and was returning home with his family when the incident took place. According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle lost balance due to a diversion, resulting in the fatal crash. The police were alerted at 2:33 am, and the damaged Mercedes was seized as evidence. The three injured individuals, aged 23, 25, and 35, were rushed to a hospital, where one of them, 23-year-old Rohit Singh from Uttarakhand's Chamoli, succumbed to his injuries. The other two are undergoing treatment. Shivam, the driver, has been apprehended, and the police are taking necessary legal action against him. An investigation is underway, with the police questioning the accused and attempting to gather statements from the two injured individuals. No First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged yet.
